Last July Brett the dogs and I packed everything we owned into the back of our pick-up truck and spent a week driving across the country from Seattle to Vermont. We had an Airbnb booked for a month and that was the extent of our plans. We knew we wanted to be together to live in the woods to find a little patch of land that we could make into a home. We knew we loved making ceramics and that we wanted to build a studio and give the business a go. What we didn’t know is that we would find the most perfect meadow nestled in the middle of a maple grove. That we would have to fight for 5 months to get it. That we would move from one impermanent living space to the next and meet the sweetest people in Vermont. That we would fit right in to the amazing handmade culture that we didn’t know existed. Our move to Vermont has been so right for us it’s also been incredibly taxing and difficult and exhausting and expensive but we’re here working away making our pots and living our lives alongside one another. We’re so happy to be able to make every piece with our own four hands and then send them out into the world even if it takes a little longer that we’d like to it to sometimes. We are learning balance and timing and constantly adjusting our schedules and priorities to be able to throw ourselves into our ceramics. Thanks so much for being part of that journey.
